My name is Tricia White, and my husband and I are the owners of Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro. Before moving to Carrboro, I spent seven years at Fleet Feet Sports Savannah. I was hired before the Savannah store opened, and I wore every hat imaginable over those seven years. Brian and I knew from the beginning that Fleet Feet Sports is a special place to work, and we always hoped for the day that we would get to have a store we could call our own. A little athletic background information on me should probably begin with age group swimming in Kansas City, since that’s what I spent all my time doing growing up. After college I eventually transitioned to triathlons, and had a great time traveling around with Brian training and racing. Right around the time we had our first daughter, I realized life lacks the minutes needed in a day to accomplish everything I wanted to do. As a result, I transitioned to running, and have continued to pursue the goal of a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes I run with Brian, our girls, or my iPod. It doesn’t matter, because I could run all day long, especially when the sun is shining. The most important things in my life are my girls (Hailey and Anna) and my husband. Any free time we get, we’re spending it together if possible. Aside from that, I love Peanut M&M’s and Diet Coke. I’m a pretty simple girl. A quote I like, and used in a high school newspaper once is “If I could be anything I’d be the sun, that way I could brighten people’s day.” I tell Brian it’s corny, but it’s true. I feel like that’s what I want to do every day I go into Fleet Feet Sports.

My name is Brian White, and I am perfectly fine being known as Tricia’s husband. I married up, and I couldn’t be prouder. Before moving to Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro, I was indirectly associated with Fleet Feet Sports Savannah for 7 years. Most of my time was spent putting on races in Savannah, and conducting special events. Eventually, I was hired as the Marketing Director, and that’s what I did until Tricia and I were blessed with the opportunity to move to Fleet Feet Carrboro and have our own store. Before working for Fleet Feet Savannah full time I was a Firefighter/EMT with the Town of Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue. I grew up a competitive swimmer until I became a full time triathlete at the age of 15. I say full time because my parents were gracious enough to sponsor me with all the support and love I needed to fulfill my goals. After college I decided I had better move on with my life and get a real job. I’ve transitioned from serious training to fitness runs. I always enjoyed training more than racing, and my fondest memories are long rides and runs in the Colorado Rockies. I’ve become a fan of Nascar, and my driver is Ryan Newman. Go Army! Just like Tricia I like Diet Coke, but I’ll pass on the M&M’s. I have a bag of Pop Secret Popcorn every night, and I love getting to eat it while watching a movie with Tricia. A perfect day for me is waking up with no responsibilities and getting to just hang out, eat, play, and relax with Tricia, Hailey, and Anna.
