I was born and raised in Pfafftown, North Carolina (a very small town outside of Winston- Salem). I am currently a senior at UNC- CH majoring in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship. After 15 years of dancing, I decided to take up running as a way to prevent the ‘freshman 15’ and to clear my mind, and I haven’t stopped since. In 2007 I accomplished one of my goals and finished a half marathon with my dad, running the entire distance—which was quite a task coming from someone who had never run more than ¼ mile prior to training.
I have a passion for being outdoors, particularly in warm climates and near water. Boating, cooking, bocce ball (it’s a new fave!), and enjoying new and different cuisines and cultures are just a few of the pastimes that I enjoy. I hate the gym, which I wish I could change. This is especially true since I have an extreme love for dessert… and food in general! I strive to be optimistic and laid- back. Unfortunately, too often I find myself taking on too many projects, which throws a little kink in my laid back approach to life. But, I am working on it!
