The Swim for Smiles Foundation, based in Chapel Hill, NC, was co-founded by Gary Kayye and Laura Gondek. Our mission is simple: Kids Helping Kids. We do this through special multi-sport events such as triathlons and Swim-A-Thons where all our money raised goes to the NC Children’s Hospital. But, the Swim for Smiles Foundation is not just one or two people – it’s a community of people involved in making our events successful and creative each and every year.
The N.C. Children’s Promise, a statewide initiative, is a year-round campaign to promote North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Its mission is to secure financial and community resources to provide comprehensive, family-centered healthcare for the children of North Carolina. The N.C. Children’s Promise will be distinguished as the driving force to promote awareness and provide private sustainable funding for the benefit of patient care and research at North Carolina Children’s Hospital.

As one of only 40 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers, UNC Lineberger brings together some of the most exceptional physicians and scientists in the country to combat cancer.
Get REAL & HEEL is a unique program designed to serve breast cancer patients in North Carolina. Get REAL & HEEL is not just an exercise program. It integrates individualized prescriptive exercise with recreational therapy to provide a program that strengthens your body and mind. We develop an individualized plan that helps each participant manage cancer treatment related symptoms and increase chances of survivorship and quality of life. The Pink Pacers strive to promote the program and overall wellness in the community.

The UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont provides resources and motivational assistance needed to reach health and wellness goals. Whether your goal is weight loss, strength training, rehabilitation, or general conditioning, our programs and staff are here to provide safe effective workouts in an exceptional environment. Once you begin, you will realize increased energy, higher self esteem, and an overall improvement in your quality of life.
In an effort to help foster a stronger and healthier community in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill area, the Cardinal Track Club selects several non-profit organizations each year to receive the proceeds from our race series, Le Tour de Carrboro. For 2010, the Cardinal Track Club distributed $37,500 among our 2010 Community Partner Organizations!
The purposes of the TrailHeads organization are to: promote the joy of trail running; support the efforts of members to maintain an active and healthy life style; listen, learn and internalize the lessons taught by our natural environment and wilder spaces; and organize and encourage efforts to enhance, extend, and maintain Nature's reach into the lives of each member of our greater community.
Endurance Magazine is the premier resource for active lifestyles in the Carolinas. Focused on educating, inspiring, and motivating athletes of all levels and abilities, Endurance Magazine offers readers compelling and immediately useful editorial on a monthly basis. Endurance Magazine also produces several endurance events including the Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler and Fleet Feet Sports 4 Mile Run (April), and the Ramblin' Rose Women-Only Triathlon Tour (May through October). We support and sponsor hundreds of other life-changing events each year.
