A lot of buzz is being made over a recent UNC study which showed that runners who used ChiRunning concepts had a better foot strike and a more efficient running motion compared to non-ChiRunning runners.

Advance Physical Therapy and Fleet Feet Sports of Carrboro are excited to offer an introductory ChiRunning class on August 19th, from 6 to 7pm, at McDougal Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Rd, in Chapel Hill.  Fleet Feet Sports will have refreshments and new shoes to check out.

Register by contacting Advance Physical Therapy at 919-932-7266, the cost to participate is $10 per person and is due at the time of registration.  Space is limited to 10 participants, so register now!

How can this class add to my running?

ChiRunning makes a difference for runners because it teaches us how to engage gravity during running.  This makes runners more energy efficient and reduces the impact of the ground on our bodies.  This controlled forward fall is a skill and must be practiced.  Once learned, running can feel effortless and relaxed.

This class will be lead by Beth Elder who is a certified ChiRuning and ChiWalking instructor.  Beth has trained under Danny Dreyer , the founder of ChiRunning and ChiWalking. To learn more about Beth and ChiRunning, visit these links: , ChiRunning. Physical therapists from Advance Physical Therapy will be on hand to assist Beth and answer any questions.

Bring your running shoes, come prepared to run, have fun and learn the practice of ChiRunning.
