Class Description: Yoga For Runners (And Everyone)
Every Thursday @ 7:30pm - Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro (Beginning May 2nd)
Cost: Suggested donation is $7.00
This class is an excellent place for cross-training and balancing a running workout (though you're also welcome if you just like yoga). We'll spend time stretching out those tight spots runners often have in common and also incorporate balance as well as body and breath awareness. Expect an all-levels class where you will be welcomed and supported whether it's your first yoga class ever or you have an advanced practice. You will want to bring a yoga mat and two yoga blocks, which can be purchased at the store before 7:00pm. This is a community class, and the suggested donation for class is $7.
Bio: Laura Baron, RYT-200
Laura, a runner and recent transplant from NYC, came to yoga for the awesome, constantly intriguing workout–unable to touch her toes and much more interested in learning neato yoga tricks than in meditation or spirituality. Several years later (after, of course, mastering some neato yoga tricks), she realized that yoga had, quietly and relentlessly, changed her life. Laura completed her teacher training at Sonic Yoga in New York and has since worked with Connected Warriors to create programs for veterans and active-duty military personnel at the Brooklyn Vet Center as well as the Durham VA. She brings humor and a fierce joy in practice to her classes and encourages students to challenge themselves.
