The 10 and 4 Mile Training Program is designed to further runners and walkers towards their fitness and running goals. It will include an education on and pursuit of different training techniques and tools in order to further enjoy running and improve their performance. There are occasional clinics covering a wide range of topical issues on running, health, wellness and nutrition from the area’s leading experts.
The 4 Mile Program is divided up between 4 Mile Beginning and 4 Mile Advanced Runners to accommodate all levels in ability. The 4 Mile Training Program will also include an all walking group in the Beginner division.
The Program meets twice a week during the 12 week training period, once on a weeknight and once on Saturday mornings. This season's workouts will be on Tuesday evenings at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 8am. The workouts will last about an hour to an hour and a half as we increase mileage throughout the season. In addition to the workouts there are educational clinics, motivational speakers, newsletters keeping you up to date, an online training log and expert coaching/mentoring to help inspire and motivate you on this training journey.
The program is scheduled to start on January 24th at the store at 6pm. It will be training for the Tarheel 10 and Fleet Feet 4 Mile Race on April 21st. The information meeting is at the store on January 19th at 6pm.
